United States Health Care

In other countries such as Great Britain, Sweden, Japan and Canada have better health care than the United States. Studies have shown that the United States health care system is worse than the health care system in the Russian Federation. Therefore, my essay will be about the United States care system, and why the system is struggling in quality. My first reason is about Private Insurance. Individuals in the United States had to pay for their medical service with no health insurance in existence, which was before the second world war.

However, various companies provided health insurance to workers around the time of the second world war, and the health insurance industry expanded very quickly through the 1950;s and 1960's. Unfortunately, hospitals and doctors increased the fees for medical service of different forms due to lack of speculation from the individuals who used the services of health insurance. My second reason is specialized doctors. A majority of doctors have selected to give exclusive care in fields such as medicine, internal medicine, cancer treatment, or cosmetic surgery. Doctors who work in a exclusive category also require mandatory fees that are two times the amount of non-specialized care.

The estimated income for physicians in the United States Of America is two-hundred-fifty-thousand a year, which is more than twice the income in the year 1990. My third reason is higher levels of technology. In the United States of America, we choose technological themed medical services such as CAT scans. The progress in medical technology is the result of increasing expenses since the year 1950. Due to focusing on technology for better health, we over look methods such as dieting and exercising.

My fourth reason is lack of preventive care. Multiple people who are unable to afford preventive care only visit a doctor in a emergency. Also, when they do receive medicine for a dangerous health issue, the requirements are long-term hospital residence and high fees. My fifth issue is the aging population.

In the United States of America, the average of an individual's age is increasing. Individuals born within 1945-1960 have a larger amount of money to sue, and become more accustomed to worrying about their health. Therefore, the more they continue to age, the more medical issues they will encounter. Therefore, spending on medical service will increase. My sixth and last reason is lawsuits.

While many people believe a doctor can resolve a health issue, individuals have the potential to initiate a lawsuit when a doctor does not live up to the expectations of the individual. This type of activity has increased the fees of Malpractice insurance, which is a type of fee that doctors give to their patients. Doctors who are afraid of lawsuits protect themselves by providing other methods of care known as "defensive medicine", which has the potential to not be required. In conclusion, not only should we take of dieting and exercising, but we should also use our money and time wisely in medical care. Hopefully, these reasons can provide a change in how we utilize our health care.
